I have been a soldier, archaeologist, journalist, graphic artist and am now a web/application programmer. I am also the father of four children, an avid sea kayaker, love hiking and camping, am attempting the next great American novel and am very interested in renewable energy and self sustainable gardening. I have hiked the Sahel and in Western Africa and Amazonian Peru, sailed the Leeward Islands, peered into an active volcano, have almost been killed by a bout of malaria and drowned surfing off the US coast and almost lost one of my children to a birth defect and I am now attempting to start up a magazine focusing on outdoor activities in my region of the world. Life, up to now, has been eclectically interesting.
