IFOAM goes technical

The International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) has announced the launch of its new "growing organic" page. The page focuses on information that is practical in the organic sector. They provide information for everyone from grassroots organizers to advocacy groups to encourage the growth of their movement. The page has tools and information from all corners of the organic world and wants to be a community resource designed to represent and serve global organic movements.

Previously, all of IFOAM's websites have focused on information about the organization and the work they do. The goal of the new site is to provide a hub of tips and information that is accessible from their main website, IFOAM.org. IFOAM wants the site to be able to serve the government as well as the private sector in providing valuable and important information about organic agriculture, because they believe that the growth of organic agriculture depends on education. Their new site covers eight major topic areas of information: policy, advocacy, strategic relations, quality assurance, marketing, training, and research.

They hope to also share lessons learned in the development of organic agriculture so far and to truly become a global resource with full diversity.
