Girls change the world

"Girls living in poverty are uniquely capable of creating a better future," says the Girl Effect, an organization that advocates education instead of poverty, business advancement instead of arranged marriage, and hope instead of desperation.

The Girl Effect says that that instead of being married off into isolation and left vulnerable to contracting HIV and AIDS that girls should be given a chance to go to school and get an education, so that she may become literate, choose someone to marry, have a healthy family and raise her family's standard of living.

Often, all this takes is a small loan to buy a cow or some other form of monetary gain. The Girl Effect takes donations on their website, but also stress the importance of awareness and education. They ask you repost their simple video and spread hope-even if it's just to one girl...because according to Girl Effect, sometimes that's all it takes.
